"Woman in Kitchen"

In the poem “woman in kitchen” there is a lady who has just finished the morning tassles of breakfast and doing the dishes and she is standing in the kitchen, almost mezmoried by it.  It talked alot about the color white, and how it beamed through in its own sense of powerfullness. Its a white kitchen =]

"POSE"

I found this picture that made me think of the woman from the poem pose. the poem was about the lady posing for a painting and loathing it.  She seemed like a woman of hard work and expierence, who was made to pose and pretend to be somthing she is not.  In a strange twist of events, this painting is by renoir!!! the painter who did the grape pickers :P

"A Ballad of Beauty and Time"

This poem is about a woman who has gotten older and her “home” remedies for looking young and beautiful are no longer working. So she decides to go to a plastic surgeon to try and fake this beauty.  I came to this conclusion because it talks about the sculptors fixing noses and faces, holding knifes, so i assumed it was a dr.90210 type deal. she later realizes that beauty is in the truth, and that “lying” with your body is not how to be truly beautiful.

"We are always too late"

First off, when i read this poem i instantly thought of one of my favorite songs “Never too Late” by Three Days Grace. They are complete opposites, but  i just figured i would tell yall.  I felt the speaker of the poem is trying to say that we always want to make up past memories, and try to “right what is wrong” and that in the end it meens nothing because it is in the past, (the history, which ironically i can see where alot of these poems have to do with stuff from the past, hense the name of the section) and in the end whats done is done.

"The Photograph on My Fathers Desk"

I liked this poem. It is so simple and meeningful.  I kind of thought of the old saying “A picture is worth 1000 words” because the speaker is giving you a little story almost and then saying its silent. at first i was like wth? then i was like oohhhhh snap its a picture and it all clicked for me at that instant. give it a 8.5 out of 10 =]

"The Making Of An Irish Goddess"

This is a freaky poem, kind of like the shadow doll one. “… the children devoured by their mothers whose souls, they would have said, went straight to hell, followed by their own.” Such creepy negativity! >.<

I am the man in the mirror, and it is my reflection that I aspire to be. In your reflection what do you see, false fault or a masterpiece?
